Online Counseling

Traffic. Hectic schedules. Child care. No Therapists nearby. Chronic pain and illness. travel. lack of transportation.

It can be really hard to go to therapy. In Austin, our traffic is getting worse and worse, meaning it could take 2 to 3 hours out of your day to go to a therapy session. Every week!

Or maybe you can't drive or don't have a car. Texas heat is no joke, and the Austin bus system doesn't always get you where you want to go.

Chronic illness flares are unpredictable and can keep us housebound. Childcare gets tricky. You have yet another business trip scheduled.

Maybe you live in Texas but too far from Austin to get here every week. Maybe you can't find a therapist near you who is knowledgeable about transgender issues or other things that you are dealing with. Or perhaps you’re early in your transition and nervous about going out in public.

Or maybe you’re not even in Texas but you’d really like to work with me because it sounds like we’d be a good fit. Through the wonders of technology and recent agreements between certain states, I can now offer video therapy sessions to the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. (More states coming soon!)

These are all reasons I decided to get training and set up online therapy over video chat (like Skype). I wanted therapy to be more accessible to more people. It's hard enough to go to therapy--now you can do it from the comfort of your own place. I also found a secure, HIPAA-compliant video system that is easy for you to use. Want to give it a try?
